Hello,

I own a LOTR game. I got it brand new last December. The game plays excellent and I love it, but since they day I got it I felt that the flippers could stand to be stronger. They aren't wearing out or getting spongy, but I wish they had a little more torque. Does anyone know what I can do?
  

Hi Risky.

LOTR has always had problems with the flippers. You might want to check the ROM version and see if it at least v8.0. There were some things Stern tried to make the flippers stronger and some people have had luck with the new code. If your game is at the rev level I mentioned, then the only thing you could do is replace the flipper coils with ones that have less windings.. Some people have gone as far as replacing the whole flipper assembly with Williams style assemblies.

Thanks for the reply. I will check out your link and read up on it. I do know that I have the most recent edition of the game, and that they no longer manufacture the game anymore. After I look into it a little more, I may have some questions if you don't mind. This is a great idea for a website and I have looked at before and joined awhile ago but this is my first post on it. I'll try to make an effort to participate more often.
  

I am usually available for questions.. My friend owns a LOTR and had the same issues you described. You are also welcome to stop by on Sunday night for the pinball chat. There can be anywhere from 5 to 25 people in there to talk to and ask questions.
